Statement of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran

on “Jan Fada” campaign

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in line with the clarification of public opinions in the United Kingdom, strongly rejects the misleading and unfounded media coverage published by some newspapers under headlines alleging that the Embassy has issued a “call for sacrifice” or encouraged “martyrdom” among Iranians residing in the United Kingdom.

The Embassy considers such portrayals to be a gross misrepresentation of facts, lacking professional accuracy and in clear contradiction with the fundamental principles of responsible journalism. The characterization of the Embassy’s communication as a “chilling call” or a call for “martyrs” is entirely erroneous and constitutes a distortion of the original message.

The Embassy wishes to underscore that the “Jan Fada” campaign is a purely symbolic and non-operational initiative, intended to reflect national solidarity, unity, and moral commitment among the Iranian people to the defence of their country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is an online and voluntary expression of patriotism and collective identity, and does not advocate or promote violence, self-harm, or unlawful activity, in the United Kingdom or elsewhere.

Any attempt to portray this initiative as a security concern, or as an incitement to violent action, is categorically rejected. Such interpretations are unfounded and appear to arise from selective reading, sensationalism, and a lack of proper contextual understanding.

The Embassy further reiterates that Iranians residing abroad have consistently demonstrated a deep and peaceful attachment to their homeland, expressed through lawful and constructive means. The campaign in question merely provides a platform for expressing such sentiments and does not deviate from these principles.

The Embassy expresses its concern that the dissemination of inaccurate and sensationalized reporting risks misleading public opinion, creating unwarranted alarm, and undermining mutual understanding and constructive relations.

The Embassy respects the laws and regulations of the United Kingdom and does not, in any circumstances, encourage unlawful or violent conduct.
