Today, despite all pressures and sanctions, Iran is among the advanced countries in many areas in science, technology and innovation, and for this reason, it has always been an attractive destination for business, investment and tourism.

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Your Excellencies, Ambassadors, high Commissioners, Distinguished Guests, and dear friends,

First of all, I would like to warmly welcome all of you for being here today to celebrate the 44th Anniversary of the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Your presence here today is particularly meaningful to us, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Ladies and Gentlemen and distinguished guests, I would like to share a few words with you to commemorate the Iranian National Day.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has stated: “The country’s progress, social justice, authority, formation of an Islamic society in Iran and finally reaching a new Islamic civilization are the goals of the Islamic Revolution."

It is believed that the Islamic Revolution in Iran was almost the last and most important Ideological revolution in the world in the 20th century. But, I can say that the Iranian Islamic Revolution funded on Islamic teachings and cultural values is totally different from all other classic revolutions in the world.

That is why reaching a new Islamic Civilization, is the sole goal of this revolution.

Now, 44 years after the revolution we can say that the generated self-confidence, independence and elected government based on its religious and cultural values are amongst the biggest legacies of the Islamic Revolution, which has led to many achievements in Iran. But needless to say that such important goals have not been achieved without costs, as currently, the nation is under the toughest economic sanctions ever imposed by its enemies.

Today, despite all pressures and sanctions, Iran is among the advanced countries in many areas in science, technology and innovation, and for this reason, it has always been an attractive destination for business, investment and tourism.

Iran ranks 15th in medicine and 7th in pharmaceutics. It was one of the 10 countries that produced its own national COVID vaccines.

In terms of science production, Iran was ranked 15th in 2021, while it ranks second in the growth of science with an acceleration of 11 times more than the world average rate.

In the field of aerospace, it ranks 13th and in production of Nano-medicine it is in 7th place. Iran stands among the top 5 countries that can produce high-power lasers. Additionally, it is also ranked fourth in robotics and has reached the 13th rank in the world in marine industries.

But it is very obvious that still we need to do more and have a long way to reach the substantial aim of the Islamic Civilization which is achievable.

On international level, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to international law, principles of the United Nations Charter and the applicable human rights law.

Iran continues to adhere to the established principles of international law without exception, whether in Palestine or Ukraine, and it is ready to consider utilizing its authorities to contribute to peace and security. Iran has always been prepared to engage in good faith and in a constructive manner to resolve any differences, in particular on the nuclear deal (JCPOA), through peaceful means based on equal footing and full respect. Conversely, unlawful intervention and intimidation campaigns against Iran will always backfire on their instigators. History proves that coercive measures against Iran will neither contribute to the improvement of human rights, nor to the international peace and security.

Having said so, I would like to also speak regarding what has happened in Iran in the last few months.

Iran, according to its constitution, respects the right of people to freedom of expression and the right to peaceful assembly and association. However, as recognized in international law, as any other state, Iran is firmly determined to ensure its public order and prevent any action against its national security and interference in its internal affairs.

What has been seen in the past few months in Iran was not a peaceful protest, but it was a Hybrid warfare and act of terrorism to pursue a regime change in Iran. However, pardoning of many detainees in the last few days on the occasion of the anniversary of the Revolution by the supreme leader indicates that Iran distinguishes ordinary protesters from violent and foreign affiliated terrorists who killed nearly a hundred police forces and civilians.

If there is a genuine will to promote human rights in Iran, there should be a firm policy against the unlawful, years-long sanctions against the Iranian nation, in particular those that have been re-imposed since 2018. As documented by the United Nations, these sanctions are violating several human rights of the Iranian nation.

To end my speech, I wish all of you a wonderful and memorable afternoon, enjoying delicious Persian cuisine.

I wish you all my very best.

Thank you.
